FYI, I had a lump in my neck in June/July of 2009. Not picked up by the doctors (3 different ones) but was by my Dentist thank God. I was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2009. Turned out to be in my right tonsil and had spread to the lymph glands in my neck - hence the swelling. I had a tonsillectomy in early August followed by 5 hours of "neck dissection" to remove my 4 right lymph glands. I then had a stomach "peg" fitted (feeding tube), 7 teeth removed, a plaster cast of my head made from which to create a mask for the RT and various CT and MR scans. I had 7 weeks of RT and CT during October and November ending on Friday Nov 13th!! These were miserable weeks for both Christine and I. However, after the low point around the start of December, I began to improve. By new Year I could eat some foods by mouth and finished using the peg by the end of January 10. I had a PET scan on Feb 4th and had the results on Feb 25th They were very positive, in fact as good as it gets. Great releif
