Mr. Sonny James is well versed in music and hip hop culture as a writer, DJ, producer, videographer, and actor. Most known for his role as co-founder of Philadelphia’s most prolific and well-respected DJ/Production crew, Illvibe Collective he has maintained a solid following in the Philadelphia, Tri State Area. He is the official tour DJ for legendary MC Bahamadia and other international hip-hop artists, including Hezekiah, Shape of Broad Minds, and Mr. Lif. Famously noted as “your DJ’s favorite DJ,” Statik’s sets have regularly hit popular venues such as Insert Coins (Las Vegas) Santos Party House, SOBs, APT (NYC), Whisper Club, Morgan's Pier (Philly), and DUSK Nightclub (AC). Additionally, Sonny's’s full and diverse roster currently includes a DJ residency for Heineken Green Room, TASTY TREATS, the Beat Society producer showcase, and various club nights around the world. His production can be heard on Illvibe Collective's All Together Now LP released on Soulspazm in 2011.
