“Addicted To the Night” was a radio show that aired on KCSB 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara from 1982-1986. It’s main time slot was on Sunday nights from 10:PM-Midnight. A quick history lesson: disco was dead in the water. It was such a bad word, that the station begged me to call its format description in the program guide - anything but DISCO. I refused. U.S. record companies limited releasing remix versions of current dance songs, so It was hard and expensive to get new material to play. There was no file sharing and no compact discs or burners then. The station’s turntables were not variable speed, so there was no live mixing. Now forty years later, I realize that I was doing the Glitterbox Radio format before its time by playing old dance floor classics and combining them with the new ones of the day. Hope you enjoy these little time capsules.
