Shane Yu (Slothy) is a music producer, songwriter, and DJ based in China and New Zealand.
Growing up in a creative family, Shane was inspired by her father, a guitarist, and her poet mother. Early exposure to music and learning the electric piano shaped her passion.
As a teen, she explored German punk rock and EDM, producing music at 18 with guidance from a Dutch mentor. Moving to New Zealand, she studied art and audiovisual techniques, which influenced her experimental pop style.
Shane has performed at major events, co-founded YLTM (Your Local Techno Mafia), and continues to push creative boundaries. Her latest project, Identity Crisis (2023), features her vocals for the first time.
