Mark N Tompkins was born on January 16, 1975 in Staten Island, New York. He was raised in a modest, middle class family together with his younger sisters, and has nothing but good memories from his upbringing in Staten Island. As a natural entertainer he loved performing in front of others, and over time he only further developed his talent. After high school he first tried studying chemistry, because he was afraid that his parents won’t approve of his choice.

A few months spent on campus and he was more than sure that chemistry is not the career path for him. Determined to make his dreams come true, Mark N Tompkins made the bold decision to peruse his acting ambition. As most actors, he also began with some small on stage roles, and slowly worked his way up. His determining point came in 1993 when a influent producer noticed him performing at some off- Broadway show.
