The past twelve months have been career-defining for DJ/producer/vocalist Marck Jamz. It was the multi-disciplinarian’s hook-up with Josh Butler on the Defected-released ‘Horizon’, which really thrust him into the public consciousness. To get the seal of approval from scene-heavyweights Kerri Chandler and Marshall Jefferson is quite the endorsement. Plaudits aside, the Norwegian artist has an enviable list of collaborators, including Solardo, Lee Walker, Max Chapman and Illyus & Barrientos. Counting Cajmere’s Cajual records, Chandler’s Madtech & Miguel Migs’ Salted Music imprints amongst the labels he has released on, it’s evident Marck is making moves in all the right places.
Having started his songwriting career as a hip-hop artist at sweet sixteen, it was after he discovered the raw, jackin’ house grooves of Mark Farina that Jamz’s career went down a different path. In a seemingly short space of time, he has already accomplished so much. And yet, the best is still to come.
