PIRATE Is Having A Student Open Day And You’re Invited

PIRATE is hosting an open day for young creators in London on 10th October, with the chance to live stream your DJ set on Mixcloud.

Are you a university and college student who wants to learn how to use DJ decks, produce music or record a podcast? Well, PIRATE has got your back. Next Thursday 10th October, one of the world’s leading studio spaces will open its doors in London for a creative open day. This is in collaboration with Mixcloud.

The free event in Dalston, east London, invites instrumentalists, vocalists, producers, DJs and podcasters for a range of activities. These include live performances, workshops, industry panels and jam sessions. We’ll have our own Mixcloud Studio, where artists will have the chance to play a live DJ set, live streamed on our platform.

Students will be treated to free studio sessions for an opportunity to make music, DJ or podcast. You can learn how to DJ from the PIRATE team and have your music listened to by professional A&Rs. There is also a chance to connect with fellow artists and creatives in a Band Blind Date. Live performances on the day feature PIRATE’s 2024 residents Papaya Noon and Kaisha, along with a surprise headline DJ set.

“The uni years are the perfect time to start a new band or learn how to DJ, so we’re excited to give students across the UK a head start with 2 free hours in any of our studios,” said Rebecca Mason-Evans, Pirate’s Head of Brand Marketing about the event. “The open day in London reflects the spirit of the Pirate community. It’s a snapshot of the kinds of events we host all year to help artists connect and grow together.”

Last year, we collaborated with PIRATE to explore the worlds of DJing and music production. Ambassadors TAYHDSN, Swami Sound and Giulia Tess shared incredible stories about their careers.

Sign up for the open day to secure your spot. Students who attend will receive a coupon for 50% off Mixcloud Pro for three years. Artists can apply for the chance to play a live set at the Mixcloud Studio.
