The Alma Negra Collective consists with four musically driven Swiss guys. The Figuiera Brothers Dersu & Diego who’s roots are entrenched in their Cape Verdian heritage, Dario with his half and half Portuguese/Italian mix and finally Mario with Spanish roots. The collective’s influences and skills are big; while some spent more time DJ-ing or producing, others have a wide background in musical knowledge encompassing Jazz, African, and Latin sounds through to Soul, Funk, Disco, and House/Techno. Influential artists are broad ranging but 3 stand out influences are Donald Byrd, Fela Kuti and Theo Parrish. They can perform as a quartet, a trio or a duo.
