Secret Temple: A Multinational Psychedelic Mix (1960s-1980s)

Mostly psychedelic ethnic folk, mostly from the 1960s and 1970s, mysterious and captivating music in a kaleidoscope of tongues. Tracks from Estonia, Sweden, France, Germany, Greece, India, the UK, and the U.S., plus some Czech 1970s soundtrack music. The show is timestamped and the full tracklist is in a comment below and at: http://wonderings.net/music-compilations/uncommon-1960s1970s-music-compilations/secret-temple/

The cover art is from an early 20th century French colorized postcard.

I love that framing! Thanks for the comment.

Having The Incredible String Band followed by Crass reminds me of an old friend. We travelled to a lot of punk, post-punk and anarcho-punk gigs together in the early 80s, including one by Crass in Bishop's Stortford, and I remember he always had a tape recorder with him and a cassette of songs that meant a lot to him, including tracks by the Incredible String Band:) I can't recall if Crass were also included, John Lennon's Working Class Hero was definitely there! Cheers for bringing back these memories:)

Love those recollections! Those must have been some heady days. Not so easy to follow ISB with most Crass, but this is a really unusual Crass track!

That sounds cool! Any thoughts on which mix I should rework to submit?

pfktoledo

A fascinating listen! So much striking music from before I was interested in this kind of thing, and again a great set of songs to end it.

Vodem

Thanks for listening and for the comment! It took me a long time to get interested in these kinds of sounds too.
