Twenty two favorite 2025 ambient tracks, both synth-based and acoustic. The selections lean toward the post-Eno and neo–New Age strains of ambient music, with artists largely rooted in indie, jazz, and neo-classical traditions rather than in the electronica scene. Music favoring a transcendent present over momentum.
This is tenth in a series of ten mixes of 2025 favorites. The selections reflect a personal, exploratory approach to discovery and curation, with artists and tracks that fall outside typical “best of” lists.

I’ve been going back to this auditory delight since yesterday afternoon. It’s been keeping me company while I work, while I exercise, and while I get other things done. I really love the organic feel of the sound — the instrumentation and electronic synthesis creating such cinematic atmospheres. I haven’t really stopped to look closely at the tracklist yet, but I should spend some time with it on another listen, because there are some truly beautiful passages. Cheers, Vodem! I need to keep going with these 2025 mixes, it’s an outstanding series.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! In addition to sharing the artists, that's the peak motivation behind mix making: to in some small way become part of other people's worlds by shaping their aural atmosphere, even for awhile.
The ten 2025 mixes are A LOT! Especially given that there's so much else great stuff happening on Mixcloud. But it was the organic result of my intense explorations in 2025, and I'm pretty happy with how each of the very different mixes came out. We'll see if I can keep up the pace of music exploration in 2026!

Thanks! It's so admirable that Brian Eno is still producing some of the best ambient music, 50 years after he got started. There was an extraordinary Eno documentary in 2024. It's not streaming anywhere regularly but sometimes it gets streamed as a special event -- if you read about it you will understand why they cannot stream it regularly. It's very moving.
