"Upon the Cypress Bough" is a showcase for music from an area fuzzily contained by Western Asia, North Africa, and Central Asia. Selections heard on the show come from traditional, religious, pop, art, and hybrid origins, but with some emphasis on less-Westernized tunes. The show usually originates live from WGXC's Acra studio each 1st Monday of the month from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (90.7 FM if you're in the Greene/Columbia county region), and is also rebroadcast every so often.
