William Trevelyan

Before he wrote songs for The Herberts, Will was a vinyl mega-junkie and DJ in London, playing warm-up sets at several clubs and for the band he informally managed, Spektrum. He still has all this vinyl and now no clue as what to do with it!

Turning over a brand new leaf to be a musician with a band who play anything from freaky jazz, folk, soul, do-wop through and country, it seemed time to back up those influences and share them.

To check out the band, go to www.theherbertsband.co.uk.

A mix spanning everything from the Northern Songs of The Beatles and Johnny Kearney to the incredible African guitar styles of Les Ya Toupas Du Zaire and Ernest Ranglin through to the wonky pop of Metronomy, the ridiculous disco of Milton Hamilton and the deep soul of Esther Phillips, this series intends to mine genres and styles in a way that is simply not 'allowed'. Ie by mixing them up without adverts. Bliss!
