When you mix an R rated coming-of-age movie about a talking animal that only you can understand with a classic midnight B film involving a half naked babysitter and the guy across the street, you’re on your way to knowing what to expect from one of Simon Darling’s day or nighttime sets. It’s innocence with attitude and it’s the ideal way to travel through a weekend afternoon into darker spheres.
Despite being born in the most over-hyped electronic city ever, it wasn’t Berlin that compelled him to become the 7,548,628th DJ in the world. In reality, it was New Zealand’s natural environment and the local fruit loops that enjoy celebrating in it which inspired his never jaded four-four sets.
