DJ RL Breezy cover image

Chicago, United States

A lover of music. Breezy watched his mom sing songs by Anita Baker, S.O.S, Chaka Khan, and rock the stage as a youngster. Every Saturday the old heads would blast James Brown on the block. Grandma played "Jesus is on the mainline". No matter where I was, I would encounter all sorts of genres. A stepping stone to develop a wide range of musical selections on my walkman, then iPod. I remember watching Omar Epps acting as a DJ on "Juice" and was like man, I want to do that. Thinking this was out of my reach, I gave up on that dream. None the less, I picked up singing like my mom, rapping like the fellas, then playing the string bass and key board. After my hiatus of being involved in music, DJing found me. Watching DJ Jazzy Jeff inspired to revisit my dream. Mixing, blending, manipulating tracks. I spent a few years just observing what/how DJs approach their craft. Then finally took it a step further, and invested in a DJ controller (which I still own today). Living my dream.
