In 1999, at the age of 17, "Left Handed Bastard" was the name chosen for my burgeoning DJing and production efforts. It originated on a mailing list I used to run, where a member had suggested it as the name for a daft musical collaboration.

I am neither left handed nor a bastard, but the anarchic name seemed to fit with the ethos of the wacky breakbeat cut-ups, bubbling filtered funk, and raw techno that I had become obsessed with.

13 years later, my obsession hadn't waned, but I felt the name was no longer a true reflection of my musical identity. So Left Handed Bastard is taking a break, but may return some day. Signal Jam is at the wheel for now.
