Back in the day…
Formative years:- spent on the ebb & flow of the Clyde on Scotland’s West Coast between Gourock & the Island of Cumbrae.

My early musical inspiration came via the New York CBGB’s scene in the mid 70’s. Bands like Mink De Ville, Talking ’ Heads and Television where changing the landscape. Everything was very street!. The British scene soon ignited - The Clash, Joy Division, 999 were born and I caught the wave like so many others. Gigging & rehearsing between Glasgow & Edinburgh, gaining some success playing bass with seminal 3 piece Surf band "The Cuban Heels " latterly being augmented by vocalist John Mullarky of the newly named “Simple Minds “ Independent releases followed via “Virgin” the first of many licenced independent Labels. Two Albums followed with various line up changes. Unsettled unchallenged the sound was changing again I was searching for something, maybe a fourth note, the late 70s was a revolt that had limitations.
