Mirko Hecktor is a german author/ editor, DJ/ music producer, choreographer/ theater director and former ballet dancer.
He studied ballet at Hochschule für Musik und Theater, München and Angewandte Theaterwissenschaften at Justus Liebig Universität, Giessen. Beside his engagements for Bayerisches Staatsballett, La La La Human Steps, Montreal and Les Ballett de Monte-Carlo he created numerous club nights, choreographies, theaterproductions and performances, on a national and international level. In 2001 he got the most prestigious canadian media award, the Gemini Award in the category »Best Performance in a Performing Arts Programm«. 2008 his book »Mjunik Disco. 60 Years of Munich Nightlife« distributed by Blumenbar Verlag was exhibited at »Made in Munich. Editionen von 1968 - 2008« at Haus der Kunst, Munich. He is one part chef - editor of the munichbased lifestylemagazine Superpaper. In 2009 he was described as »one of the most influential persons within Munichs Young Cultural Scene«
