When Mike Wade was six and should have been playing cowboys and Indians he was, instead, in a skiffle group
At twelve he had made it to pop bands, a path which eventually led to his group, Wolfe, being signed by Motown Records in the USA. An album and a couple of singles followed, but fame did not.
After years spent as a session drummer, touring drummer, session singer and jingle writer, Mike concentrated entirely on the world of advertising, forming the agency Owen Wade Delmonte.
He went on to become Director of Strategy for one of the London’s largest agencies.
These days you will mostly find him tucked away in his studio in North Norfolk, from where he has written several books.
Mike Wade’s ‘The Radio Telescope’ focusses on great music from here, there and everywhere.
Radio presenting for 60 North is a particular delight for him as the station had become Mike’s favourite listen, prior to him plucking up sufficient courage to ask if he could have a go himself.
