Momentarily stunned by the beauty of what I see

As if for the first time

I’m born again

And once more seduced by the sky

And the flat bottomed

Cotton blossom mountains

Morphing, melting, reforming

Casting dappled light on the ground

As they steal across the infinite blue

In the far distance a brooding, slate grey thunderhead

Ushered along by natures sigh

Kisses the velvet hilltops

I’m compelled to appreciate the gracefulness

Natures wondrous vessels

Pregnant with life giving tears

Awe inspiring and untouchable

And indifferent to the anguished mortals

Who slipped away the day before
