Half of Beatkozina, Born in Morocco, Mehdi Naami grew up listening to multiple sounds from the traditional music of Morocco and North Africa to Funk, soul music and rock helping to shape his eclectic musical tastes

Drawing his sounds from various trends, such as Afrobeat, Reggae, R & B, Old School Hip Hop and Jazz, Mehdi Naami discovered electronic beats while studying in France in the late 90's and was deeply influenced by great artists like Laurent Garnier, Etienne de Crecy, Fumiya Tanaka, Miss Kitten and The Hacker.

Within the World of African and Middle Eastern electro- ethnic, Mehdi Naami has a genuine approach to music where his performance of mixing sounds becomes a narrative, a story telling that takes the audience into various ethic universes. His nomadic take on music brings about a timeless brewing of sounds.

A major figure on the contemporary Moroccan electro- ethnic scene since the early 2000's, He is Resident DJ in the Red City at Buddha Bar Marrakech.
