Ruben Fernandes, aka Matizz, comes from a seaside small town in the south of Portugal, where he spent his youth enjoying the freedom of local beaches and endless summers.
Having no musical background, he only really got into electronic music after immersing in the clubbing scene of local clubs back in the 90’s. This new experience took him to start collecting vinyl records, even before he actually started to DJ. For him, the art and beauty of Djing are in the collecting and the sharing of the music. In his view, a good selection and a great soundtracking are definitely more important than technique.
He's been Djing since the 90's but never really made it his primary focus. In the end of 2015, after having moved to Lisbon, he renewed his love for the craft and felt inspired to share the music he had collected over the years.
