Growing up on a farm in the 80s 90s (when the rave seen was peaking) left me a love for electronic music & plenty of time to listen to it sat in a tractor. I tried my hand a mixing vinyl, but was't very good, 20 years later I was introduced to mixing using a controller, with my daughters birthday fast approaching, I thought this might be the ideal opportunity to introduce her to mixing, so a Pioneer 400 was purchased. She had loads of fun pressing all the buttons, sound effects and all but soon lost interest. I on the other hand loved it, and using it most evenings. With the desire to improve, I found myself spending hours down various rabbit holes on YouTube clips explaining music theory, when I discovered Andrew @clubreadydjschool who put together mixing courses using video clips. At the time, I thought it was quite expensive but have since upgraded to a new controller and suffice to say I'm still having lots of fun!
Have a listen and let me know what you think...
