The House Gangster movement was born in 2008 as a reaction to the state of the industry and the negativity at the time towards House music. With electro, trance and other pop-dance flooding the sound waves, many were stating that House music was dead.

DJ Sneak created a simple statement to show that it wasn’t all about the glitz and glamour, but that the real raw spirit of dance music was rooted in the original House sound of Chicago. Being a House Gangster is all about showing love and support for the sub-culture of House music, no matter what others are saying. It’s about the positives of a collective of people, a loyal family who represent the values of being true to House music.
