patrick quinn in nyc has launched a new label, called deep mapping, and he invited me to contribute a work for it. i took the opportunity to finally work with the sounds i recorded during the making of the film the mill in 2018, and the result is mill:liminal, a sonic companion to the film. we are also listening to patrick's own release on the label, which is a sort of psychogeographic mapping of a "living" ghost town. we also checked out the latest release on the great gruenrekorder, a portrait of a wetland in silesia in the czech republic by magdaléna manderlová; and a new one on line by verónica cerrotta featuring abstractions of sonic journeys in europe and south america. all this along with our latest batch of sounds from the aporee soundmaps, and an intro from slovakia.
