the heat has hit estonia at last, so sounds from a swaying cornfield feel appropriate, and annie dodson delivers. thailand, i would imagine, was also quite warm at the time cm von hausswolff & chandra shukla’s sounds were recorded, but the weather for maría bulla & juan bermúdez’s walks through ithaca, new york, and wiesbaden, germany is anyone’s guess. can you hear the temperature in the sounds? vanessa rossetto’s work here revolves more around people’s own recordings of singing in their own environments, and katov syn(th)’s piece uses sounds from all over the place (estonia, slovakia, slovenia, iceland, and japan), so they’re a little harder to pin down. and our intro, from france, was recorded back in may, so we might assume it was a bit cooler for michael serafin-wells, but […]
