I like pretty much anything except Rap and Country. My favorites are 80s and early 90s alternative, dance remixes of anything, and vocal trance.

Aspects of trance I don't like ...
(1) the "machinegun" effect
(2) the "staircase" and "drop"
(3) the "jet engine taking off" sound
(4) machine gun that gets faster and faster until it sounds like a buzz-saw
(5) the "swarm of angry hornets" midi voice
(6) robot voices
Most of my favorites mixes/tracks are free of all of the above! :-)
Stuff I LOVE about vocal trance --
Good solid beats
Sweet and smooth vocals, like butter
A nice melody
Samples are ok as long as they aren't crazy repetetive
smooth transitions between tracks
"down tempo" and "up tempo" portions with vocals
