Minami Wataru A.K.A DJ Minami was born 1976 in the Tokyo area of Japan but grew up in Kansai.
His mother was a dancer and his father owned a record store that sold mostly U.S. Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, and Blues records. Growing up in such an environment it is no surprise that he started take an interest in aforesaid genres. At the age of 14 he got a taste of the nightlife when he entered a night club for the first time. There he was able to see a real live club DJ in action.
His career as a DJ started when he received his first pair of tables when he was 15. From that point on the sky was the limit for DJ Minami and he took that to heart as he came to be the home DJ at all the Major clubs in Osaka.
