djBern began DJing in the early 90s when his sister wanted to make a mixtape of slow songs and their dad came home with a cheap Radio Shack DJ mixer. He quickly taught himself how to mix and started compiling a vast record collection. He started his first gigs with some friends, renting halls and printing flyers to promote his parties. Word of mouth got out and he soon started to do high school dances, house parties, debuts (Filipino 18th birthday parties), weddings, and corporate parties. His popularity soared during the height of Chicago House movement where he did various parties and stints around Toronto. He had a 7 year residency at The Raq(www.theraq.ca), as well as stints at some of the popular Filipino bars around Toronto. These days, you will find him on a lot of mobile gigs, corporate parties and weddings. He has recently made the evolution to Video DJ and is back as a regular DJ/VDJ again at The Raq. Video mixes can be found at www.vimeo.com/djBern.
