Cincinnati, United States
Born and raised in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, DJ Blayde has also lived in Bangor, ME, and Kalamazoo, MI, before moving to Cincinnati in 2009. She got her start DJing for house parties back in college, and for women’s hockey tournaments (when she wasn’t playing in them). Blayde dug into her parent’s vinyl collection as soon as she could walk, and was making mixtapes from recording songs off of the radio soon after. Musically, she loves everything from classical (played violin throughout high school), to 70s era ABBA (grandfather owned all of their vinyl), to 80s/90s pop and rock from Michael Jackson, Prince, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, to Ozzy and Metallica, to all kinds of hip-hop/rap music from old school to today (2pac, Biggie, LL Cool J, Drake, Fetty Wap), as well as House & Nu Disco. Her identity as ‘DJ Blayde’ was born out of her extensive hockey, speedskating, and rollerblading sports background. Music is truly everything to her. 'Slice like a ninja, cut like DJ BLAYDE!'
