James Anthony is the founder of Urban Camouflage, a network of Atmospheric Architecture, creative audio experiments and underground projects.
As a veteran dj from 1992 beginning in upstate NY, James spent much of his time in Toronto and New York City before moving to Chicago in 1994 focusing on expanding the house sound. Rooted in tradition, James dj'd historic loft parties and night clubs like Shelter, Vinyl, Smart Bar, + with local favorites such as Derrick Carter, Diz, Mark Grant, Heather, among others. As an artist, influenced by Detroit techno, improvised jazz, and spoken word, James approached his signature house sets with a flavor all his own.
Breaking boundaries always with a unique voice, James also played at fashion shows for designers including the esteemed Yohji Yamamoto and Betsey Johnson. Performing live at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
