Cleveland 'Clevie' Browne is the surviving member of the music production duo STEELY & CLEVIE. Noted as pioneers of dance-hall music, the two stamped their new style and presence on the Jamaican music landscape in the mid 1980's lending their musical talents to a number of production houses which resulted in numerous hits for their labels. Among the beneficiaries were: King Jammy's, Techniques, Red Man International, Music Works, Penthouse and Digital B labels to name a few. Undeniably the two were largely instrumental in creating and breaking the Dance-hall genre which soon attracted a global following. In 1988 they started their own self titled record label
(STEELY & CLEVIE) which strengthened their vision of providing employment, empowerment and hope for many talented Jamaican youths, but more so, those from the inner city.
