Born and raised in Washington, DC., Michael Robertson, Brotha Mike, became fascinated with the effects of signal on audio equipment as early as 8 years old. His fascination began with watching signal from a high current amplifier, burn, in almost promethean fashion, a woofer from a dismantled speaker. Sounds like a simple concept to an audio engineer, but very intriguing for a child—so began his study of audio and its equipment and how it worked. He began Djing at a very young age at house parties that friends of his mothers had invited her to—being the DJ as often as the parties would happen. As early as 6 months into his 10th birthday, Michael began Djing at a small late night club, under the supervision of his mother, in 1981.
Started Deeper with Jason Pascuzzi, which was rebranded as Hot Mass. After 36 years DJing, currently on DJ hiatus after losing the Hot Mass afterhours gig due to a hostile hipster takeover.
