I started playing Drums when I was about 10 years old. The 1st kit I was playing on was a Premier kit, hanging around in someones sound proof box.. after setting up the kit I had the whole summer holiday to practice. Shortly after I bought my 1st own drum kit a Sonor reddish sparkle color. It came with a AKG D12 Microphone.
My recording experience started when I was about 18 years. There was a WW2 Bunker in our town, which we rented. We had a Brenell Mini 8 Reel to reel tape Recorder. It was a beast go about 50kg. At 1 inch of tape width and only 8 tracks , sound was amazing. The dynamic of that full analoque Brenell 8 Track was so much that no other Tape at the time could handle to reproduce the dynamics..Not even our newly acquired Denon dt2000 DAT Tape.
Mid Nighties I started using drum machines more often. Classic 303 and 808 / 909 we used producing a lot of techno & house...
