From Latin Bass to Sadcore: What the Mixcloud staff loved in March 2026

Finally shake off the winter blues with these mixes for Spring, selected by the Mixcloud team.

Spring

Spring has sprung. Blossoms are blooming. The mixes picked by the team this month will make you sway like young daffodils in the sun. Whether it’s North American Post-Punk, Noise Pop or the London rhythms of UK Funky there’s a bit more tempo in the team’s picks this month. One thing’s for certain: listening to these mixes will get your body grooving this Spring.

Krotpong – Aum Shinrikyo Two

Our product manager Laurie picked out this mix from Krotpong, a creator based in Texas. “I’ve been browsing the feed more lately to look at the listening history of people I follow,” she explains. “As a result I came across Krotpong, an Austin-based creator who seems to have uploads in every possible genre. This mix features Post-Punk, noise and dreamy tunes from some familiar names alongside new artists to explore further.”

Discoman – Chillout Sessions The Gifts

The sunshine has finally arrived here in the UK. With rain reported in the UK everyday since the start of the year, the return of the sun means a lot. If you want a mix that feels like the magic of the clouds opening, check out this ethereal Downtempo mix from Discoman. Julian, our mobile developer, said of his selection: “I’ve been enjoying this chillout mix to help me ease into (or out of..) the working day.”

Athens of the North w/ DJ Austin Ato Aug 2025

Athens of the North is an incredible re-issue record label based in Edinburgh, specialising in unearthing forgotten Soul, groove and Boogie. For their Disco club night I Love Your Energy in Glasgow, they teamed up with soul brother, DJ and producer Austin Ato who makes dancefloor edits of super soul specials. This five-hour mix is packed with bangers for Disco lovers!

Chappelinho – Poolside Sessions

If the Spring sunshine is getting you extremely excited for summer (like me!) why not jump ahead to summer with this poolside session. Recorded in Paraguay by a pool in a historic hotel, it’s the perfect way to beckon in the summer season (even if it’s not here yet for the northern hemisphere). “I came across Chappellinho randomly via some Mixcloud Posts comments they had made,” said Ricky, our lead Designer. “I’m glad I did as there’s lots of summer friendly uploads to get stuck into now the sun is coming out (gradually!) For fans of Balearic and Italo Disco”.

Carlos Biendia – UK Funky & Beyond Vinyl Mix

Carlos Biendia is a South London selector specialising in Salsa and UK Funky. He has spun records on both G-Shock Radio and Brixton Radio. You can catch him live every month at Tola down in Peckham, London as part of the Club YDLR crew. Blog writer Yemi said: “I went to school with Carlos Biendia and if I’d known he’d later give the world this clinic on UK Funky, I would’ve asked for it back then. Really sick selections.”

2cperrea + Tedesco on Foundation FM

Friday’s on Foundation FM are always high energy preparations for the weekend. Our social media overseer Lyra said this mix is “a really nice heavy Latin club, Bass and Techno mix from Tedesco for queer Latinx club night 2cperrea. Getting me hyped for their night at The Cause at the end of the month.” Sounds fabulous!

Soundsdisastrous – Lamentations

I was checking out the awesome 8 Ball Radio for something to listen to because they’ve added a bunch of hosts to their Mixcloud roster lately. One of them is the peculiar soundsdisastorous, whose monthly shows play on Sundays at 6-8pm ET. A time which is universally quite still whilst most people mourn the end of the weekend. This mix is fittingly called ‘Lamentations,’ tagged as #sadcore. But in my opinion it’s not sad but a warm mix of rare 80s synth grooves, Reggae, Ambient and global Folk, all with soulful records I’ve never heard before.

RnD Radio: 001 Guitar Music on Block Radio

Think you knew everything about the guitar? Every country on earth has its own take on the stringed instrument. This 90-minutes from a new-to-Mixcloud radio station in Milton Keynes, Block Radio, is an ear-opening exploration into the diversity of the guitar. “We all know what an electric guitar sounds like, right? think again,” said Calum in Support. “Spanning decades, genres and continents, this show is a deep-dive into guitar experimentation showcasing the discordant, rhythmic and, most importantly, loud.”
