Milan, Italy
The project was created to highlight the popular music of the many communities living in Italy, blending cultures and references from both past and present. The journey begins with highlife and afrobeat from West Africa and expands to sounds from around the globe, with a special focus on roots tied to Ghana, Jamaica, Venezuela, and Mauritius.
The show debuted in 2018 on Radio Raheem (Milan), continued in 2021 on Radio Banda Larga (Turin), and in 2022 expanded to Oroko Radio (Accra, Ghana), a platform built to connect second-generation communities through a global network of hosts and artists. While the radio format is currently on pause, the project stays alive through dj sets, live performances, and collaborations.
