"Trader Joes has some really good deals but I still feel like breakfast cereal is their Achilles heel. Sugar is poison, and at best, they're ambivalent. This is funny stuff to put in lyrics in any case, but it also hits close to home, as I shop for certain deals at Trader Joe's, and my everyday bread is Ezekiel (w flax), cause it's the healthiest possible option, and I'm kind of a nerd about nutrition these days, and I don't find other people that really connect with things like "the importance of whole grains and fiber," funny to find that in a hip-hop song...
a random whim to listen to Cookie Mountain popped into my mind the other day and then up pops this song today (had no idea Mr Adebimpe had made any solo music). great stuff and cheers!
