Space rock is a subgenre of rock music; the term originally referred to a group of early, mostly British 70s progressive and psychedelic rock bands characterised by lengthy instrumental passages dominated by electric organs, synthesizers, experimental guitar work and science fiction or astronomical themes... Today space rock also refers to the rise of new sounds by alternative bands and producers that draw from these roots.
