Amon Duul II.
Amon Düül II is a German band generally considered to be a seminal influence on the development of Krautrock. Their first album Phallus Dei ('God's Penis'), released in 1969, consisted of pieces drawn from the group's live set at the time. They played alongside bands like Tangerine dream soon after. The bass guitarist Dave Anderson leaved the band to join HAWKWIND in 1970. After the departure of Renate Knaup who joins Popol Vuh in 1974 and the release of a few albums, AMON DÜÜL II split up. In 1981, with the album "Vortex" Chris Karrer tried to reform the band without succes.
