Salamander is Producer, DJ and Zoologist in training Humphrey Wood. Based in Edinburgh he was father of the Band and DJ showcase - 'Salamander Trance' at the Forest Cafe and is a member of the No Globe world music collective.
Influences are drawn from Balie Funk experinenced first hand in Brazil, Electro, 90's rave, Hiphop, Grime, Dub and DnB.
Artists admired are Elvis Costello, Damon Albarn, Goldie, Roots Manuva, Tribe Called Quest, Lowkey, Daft Punk, Justice, Fake Blood, Urban Hype, Disclosure, Major Lazer, Dj Edgar, Mr Scruff
Salamander's latest project has been his Kill Bill Vol.1 Remix album, completed whilst working in New York in the summer of 2011. This consitists of the Sountrack to kill bill volume one reworked into a bangin combination of Grime, Electro, Jungle and Good Vibz. Featuring vocals from Dizzie Rascle, Amy Winehouse, Elvis Costello and more. Creating a unique sound, its a must listen Mixtape and Remix album, download:
