I became interested in electronic music during my senior year in college. I was a music major and had been introduced to the influential "minimalist" aesthetic of Reich and Adams. That year my sister sent me a mixtape with some ambient tunes and several tracks from BT's ESCM, which blew me away. When I heard Sasha's GU Ibiza compilation I realized that DJing could definitely be an art form. I started collecting records and mixing in '99, mostly trance and progressive.
