I started listening to tech/house/etc. a very long time ago with what I think was part of the beginning...Herbie Hancock Rockit, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream. However, this was all pre-internet, so could not listen to the music that easily then as music seemed only being played in clubs...not on the radio...and the clubs were only really in NYC and Chicago...so if did not live there, out of luck. Visited NYC, and there was a guy Mike Mike who made and sold cassette copies of NYC club recordings in the Village on weekends.. Decades later....still listening
