Throughout my teenage years I think I went to see The Subways what felt like every other month after their debut album came out.
I remember once dodging bouncers to getting into a gig for 18 and overs when I was 16, and celebrating by getting my older mates to put me on their shoulders in the rowdy pit and soaked in Red Stripe.
I’ll always have an affiliation with that album, ‘Young for Eternity’ due to the amount of times I’ve seen it performed live and also because it boasts so many cracking tunes!
Charlotte Cooper very kindly took the time to have a chat with me about whether she still gets the same buzz on stage as she did when they released their first record.
We also chewed the fat about the initial feeling she got when John Peel first played their track 1 A.M on BBC Radio One, but firstly we started by discussing how she feels after 10 years in the band.
