IG91, or Iljanated vs DJ G0@ in full, started out in the summer of 2003, when two old friends from high school, Iljanated and DJ G0@ decided to stick their heads together and combine Ilja’s producing skills with G0@’s DJ-skills and start a Drum & Bass live-project.
The two of them found their way to the D&B scene way back at the end of the nineties, when legendary Belgian D&B parties as It’s Like A Jungle and Star Warz in Brussels and Ghent opened their eyes, Iljanated got in to the whole process of creating and producing D&B tunes, while G0@ got his thrills putting the vinyl to the test on his decks.
IG91 stands for ‘crossover’ D&B, as some songs are built on electric guitar and didgeridoo at one point, and then again are sometimes leaning towards techno or even Happy Hardcore. Needless to say these guys haven been listening to a lot of different stuff: everything from Guns n’ Roses to Orbital, with pit stops in the Bonzai scene (after all, Antwerp is their hometown).
