Los Angeles-born, San Francisco-based Jonathan DeRise (Jonathan D) is a true deejay at heart with a passion for dance music. He was first introduced to the art of turntablism at age 28, hooked by the challenge, he invested in gear and learned from anyone who'd teach. His first break was a one hour set @ Lounge 217 in Santa Monica, CA. A year after his first public appearance he got DJ slots at LA's Gotham Hall, 217, Sugar, The Mor & local EDM events. In the summer of 2003 Jonathan D was opening in the house room for The 2-Man Group at Spundae, one of LA's largest dance clubs. An obsession for Deep, Tech, & Progressive influenced a love for dark nocturnal sounds leaving long-lasting impressions with audiences. Taking a break from the scene, he returned in 2009 to DJ the Hustler party and again for a guest set on House Wrekaz radio in 2012. In 2018 he returned with a set at The End Up in SF & launched Deep Therapy Radio on MixCloud where weekly shows start Spring 2022.
