Dilbeek, Belgium
Hugo Tanghe, born in Halle (Belgium) on February 13, 1963 attended life class model drawing and art painting classes at the Anderlecht academy in the early nineties.
After this training he drew models in the ‘Las Meninas’ studio in Brussels for two years.
Hugo Tanghe is an artistic all-rounder who inter alia draws models, paints, is a strip cartoonist and creates digital works of art. Colour and atmosphere both play a major role in his works. He deliberately doesn’t choose to pin himself down to one style and compares his art to a playground. A sense of childlike freedom equals boundlessness with joie de vivre.
Applied art:
One of his aims is not only to create art but also to address the idea of art consumption. He decides to go one step further. His artwork assumes a function, a second life.
Works of art become art items for everyday use.
His entire art is to be found under ART-4-U ( http://www.art-4-u.eu)
