DJ Maroules started his music education at the age of 5 where he began his studies in classical music. John spent his early years dancing his Saturday afternoons away at a local disco through the late 80’s. This passion for music expanded when he went to college and studied music theory, vocal training and performance.
After college, he worked at a dance bar in Raleigh, NC bartending & planning many successful circuit parties which continue to this day. John was inspired by the music talents of DJ Buc and DJ Herbie James to name a few; which lead to Herbie introducing him to a retiring DJ, who made her equipment available, and DJ Maroules was born! John’s distinct blend of music is influenced by gospel music along with brass and bass notes and include beats from Ibiza, Brazil and of course South Florida!
DJ Maroules lives in Fort Lauderdale, where his friends call him John, with his husband Jay and their dog, Fiona. She's learned to run when the speakers come out....'cause it's loud!
