ACT Desi is a multilingual media experience, presented in Hindi, Urdu, and English. The show caters to Indian and other South Asian communities, covering relevant issues, showcasing empowering stories, and sharing news and topics on daily life in Canberra.
The show began its journey in July 2019, when it was aired for the first time on 12th July at 8.30 pm on 2XXFM - Oldest community radio in Canberra.
Desi literally means 'countryman', usually a word spoken in South Asian countries. It reflects a deep feeling or sense of connection / belonging to one's motherland while respecting and adapting to new culture and values.
