Welcome to the 44flavours mixtape archive. The concept is to have our favorite artists share their own definition of heartfelt music. The mixes archived here were created exclusively for us. The series is curated together with our man RQM / lp.
44flavours is the more than two-decade-long collaboration between Berlin-based artists Sebastian Bagge and Julio Rölle. Their practice moves between painting, installation, and sculpture, expanding painting beyond the flat surface into objects, spatial constructions, and interventions in public space. Their visual language moves between abstraction and figuration, drawing on architecture, nature, letters, and everyday objects. Inspired by rhythm, dramaturgy, and the improvisational energy of free jazz, their intuitive and experimental approach embraces bold colors, layered compositions, and diverse materials. At its core is a shared authorship and collaborative spirit: “better together.”
