Yougrent is a producer and DJ based in Palermo, he is also co-founder of Sound Butik, a party that became an institution in his city. He approached to music in a very young age, playing clarinet and completing the classical studies at the conservatory. After this experiences he started working on a hip-hop project under the Monroe’s moniker, where he went deep inside the hip-hop, soul and jazz cultures, his most important inspirations. His productions are a fine mixture of techno and house with an hypnotic and dreamy side: perhaps his first track, “The Hole In The King’s Sock”, was released on vinyl inside a V.A. on Flexi Cuts. Yougrent is a big record collector with amazing turntable skills. His sets are incredibly eclectic, ranging from the last house and techno releases to disco feelings with a constant funk atmosphere, world music influences and everything else with a smooth vibe. He has shared decks with Young Marco, Stump Valley and The Analogue Cops.
