At 15 Michael had his first taste of Dance Music at the Pleasure Rooms in Leeds regularly attending Up Yer Ronson & Back to Basics - where - like a rabbit in the headlights he caught the bug or at least he did when (clearly underage) the bouncers were feeling kind enough to let him in!..... Later at Mint Club and in the inspirational surroundings of Back to Basics he met Russ Watson (guitar) and sculpted the primordial "MONKEY TAPES" from bits of cassette tape and Valium whilst spending their evenings in a squat above the bookies sampling the horse racing commentary - which would regularly be picked up by their recording equipment.
Tired of playing other peoples tunes, he took an extended hiatus from DJing, and with Russ, Dave, Matt, Tesc & Ee a fully fledged JUMA was born - a five piece band.
Now he's back to House Muuuuusic!
